You can use colour to customize and personalize your braces! Once you embrace the fact that braces will be part of your life for the next little while, havnig a little fun by adding colour might help you feel more like yourself again.
How can I add colour to my braces?
Braces involve many parts, including the brackets, archway, metal bands (o-rings for back teeth) and rubber elastics that go around each bracket.
It’s these tiny elastics (or bands) that allow you to add colour your smile! Your elastics will be changed during your regular adjustment appointments at your orthodontist's office every 4 to 6 weeks, meaning that if you like, you can switch out colours each time.
You can even choose different colours for each tooth, or alternate colours in a pattern!
What colours should I choose?
You can choose any colour(s) you wish! the sky is the limit, because orthodontic elastics come in every colour of the rainbow.
You could choose your favourite colour, the colours of your favourite sports team, or colours that suit your eye colour or skin tone best. It's up to you!
So if you're looking for a way to add a little pizzazz to your look, adding coloured elastics is a fun, simple way to do it!
